As a resident of the Richmond Villas village community, you will have full access to all of the facilities. We encourage you to join in with the wonderful residents for some fun times and festivities that will become a feature of your retirement through social contact on a regular basis and become part of your normal everyday life while still enjoying the freedom to do the things you love.
The community lodge is used by our residents on a daily basis for various activities and events. Above the community lodge, we have six independent 2 bedroom living apartments.
Designed specifically for the residents to share with friends and family we have a range of activities and features for you to enjoy.
Happy hour, line dancing, choir lessons, attractive conservatory and games room, fully functioning catering facilities for large groups and family gatherings all take place in this relaxed atmosphere. Our library contains a range of books and options to keep the mind active and our swimming pool and spa join the private gym for a more physical workout.

Hair Salon: is available for residents, appointment days are available twice a week.
Main Hall: This is where many of the activities take place. Not all at once of course.
Dining Room: Many social gatherings take place that is organised by our resident’s committee. There are also daily activities on the monthly calendar that are held in this room. For special anniversary’s residents are able to book this room out for a private function. Some residents that are part of clubs use this venue for their monthly club meetings.
Kitchen Facilities: We do not have a commercial kitchen but we have a kitchen facility that is available for caterers to use.
Smaller Lounges: We have two smaller lounges one is used more for reading or watching T.V the other is ideal for meetings but mainly used for playing Rummikub.
Billiard Room: Two pool tables are available and it is scheduled on the monthly activities calendar twice a week but this can be played whenever someone needs to brush up on their skills.
Library: A real hub to catch up with anyone, help yourself to a wide selection of books, read the newspapers or just contribute to completing a puzzle. We also have many puzzles for residents to share, swap or take home as needed.
Craft Room: A great opportunity for people to get together and be creative sharing their ideas, tips and tricks for card making or scrapbooking. Knitting and Needlework are also held on a separate morning where ladies have joined together over in the main lounge on the ground floor of the new Apartment block. The perfect place to enjoy a cuppa and a chat by the fireplace during the colder months.
Indoor Swimming Pool and Spa: A great opportunity to exercise in the indoor heat pool. There is a spa to relax in after you have had a workout.
Gym: Consists of 2 treadmills, 2 rowing machines, 1 cycle machine and weights for a more physical workout. This is also the place to meet for a game of table tennis.

Together with the Residents Committee and Management we endeavour to provide you with a variety of entertainment and regular activities.
One of our popular games ‘Rummikub’ is played and enjoyed by many residents of all ages.
Held in the Dining room, Monday’s is 500 Card Club and once again this is a very popular activity enjoyed by many and beginners are always welcomed!
Enjoy morning exercise classes – Zumba Aerobic Exercises is held in the main hall or during the summer ‘outside’. This is a mixture of Aerobic and dance and is instructed by our very own resident. We also have an Up Right and Active Exercise Class enjoyed by all and caters for all levels. Exercise from seated, standing or both.
Line dancing is in the main hall and instructed by our very own resident. This is a fun alternative for exercises as it really gets your brain thinking about remembering those steps to the music.
Choir Lessons are held in the Main Hall on a Monday afternoon once a week, singing is good for your health! Our Choir Group has always been enjoyed by all as they have done many performances for residents inside the village or for the community.
Scrabble is held in the dining room and was a group formed from people in the community but all are welcome to join.
Mahjong Group is held in the dining room, this group has been formed by residents and people in the community. A very popular game that welcomes people to join.
Sunday’s Housie is always looked forward to by many this is every Sunday afternoon and is another chance to have another cuppa.
Tuesday Happy Hour is held in the new Apartment block in the main lounge on the ground floor. This is the place to meet the new residents in the Apartments. All residents are welcome to come along.
Thursday Men’s Night is also in the dining room a quieter group get together for a drink and a catch-up.
Friday Night Mix ’n’ Mingle is held in the dining room at 4.30pm this is where the weekly raffles are drawn. Residents bring their own beverages and the residents committee put together some nibbles to share.
Movie Afternoon is once a month on a Saturday afternoon and held in the Main Hall and watched on a 70inch screen T.V. The movie is chosen by a resident.
Birthday Afternoon Tea is held on the last Wednesday once a month to celebrate anyone who had a birthday that month. Residents bring along a small plate to share and Management have a birthday cake to also share.
Mainly used as a courtesy van for when residents are unable to drive.
Thursday’s we will pick up residents at 11.00am from the main street after they have done their shopping.
Friday’s Pak n Save shopping, we will drop off and pick up residents who need to do their morning grocery shop.
The Village Van is also used for residents when going on a village dinner or lunch outing.
With the surroundings of Coromandel Ranges and across the Firth of Thames Richmond Villas is set in a peaceful location with easy access to all the town has to offer.
The local Council have provided a Thames Urban Connector Bus that will pick up residents in the village and drop-off to a location around town five days a week between 9.00am and 3.00pm. There are eight different drop-off points located in Thames.
There are many different groups and clubs available to join and in close proximity to Town. The numerous sports clubs include golf, bowls, croquet, tennis, squash, gun and hunting clubs.
Immediate access to walking trails and biking tracks for your Leisure to enjoy the easy lifestyle and nature of coastal living. Enjoy a variety of cafes and shops down the main street and Goldfields shopping centre.
